The Morningstar ProStar MPPT 40 Amp Solar Charge Controller is a premium maximum power point tracking (MPPT) charge controller designed for high-performance off-grid solar power systems. Featuring Morningstar’s proven TrakStar™ MPPT technology, the PS-40-MPPT continuously optimizes PV output to maximize energy harvest under changing weather and irradiance conditions while achieving up to 98% peak efficiency. Supporting both 12V and 24V battery systems, the controller delivers up to 40A of charging current and accepts PV arrays up to 700W at 12V or 1400W at 24V. Advanced programmable charging profiles support Lead Acid, Lithium, Nickel Cadmium, and other battery chemistries, while integrated load control, extensive data logging, MODBUS communications, and optional SNMP monitoring make it ideal for remote power, telecommunications, industrial, and off-grid applications. Built with a fanless design, conformally coated electronics, corrosion-resistant terminals, and hazardous location certifications, the ProStar MPPT delivers exceptional long-term reliability in demanding environments.
