The FranklinWH Main Load Relay is an advanced accessory designed to improve the reliability and performance of FranklinWH Home Power backup systems during black start recovery scenarios. Integrated with the FranklinWH aGate and aPower battery system, the Main Load Relay enhances the system’s automatic black start functionality by temporarily disconnecting household load-side circuits during low-power recovery conditions. This allows available solar PV production to prioritize charging depleted aPower batteries before restoring power to home loads, significantly increasing black start success rates during extended utility outages. Once the battery system reaches a user-defined state of charge, the aGate automatically reconnects household circuits to resume normal backup operation. Rated for 120/208V and 120/240V applications with up to 200A continuous current, the Main Load Relay provides homeowners with a more reliable and automated whole-home backup experience while reducing the need for manual appliance disconnection during outages.
